I Bought the Outfits Before I Had the Stages: On Manifestation, Sound, and Sensory Experience Design

At the start of this year, I did something that felt equal parts bold and completely necessary: I bought outfits specifically meant for speaking on stages.

I didn’t have a full schedule booked yet. But deep down, I knew I was going to change direction. I knew I was meant to share my work on larger platforms, talking about rest, sound, nervous system health, and sensory experience design. I put the vision out there, bought the clothes to match, and started taking actionable steps every single day to meet that reality halfway.

Fast forward to right now, and that intention is unfolding in real time:

  • MECCA Beauty x NGV: Opening the MECCA x NGV Women in Design Commission for world-renowned Chinese architect Xu Tiantian. Her work relies on circular, community-driven space, a concept that mirrors how meditative breathwork and sound baths bring people back into collective harmony.

  • Wellness Tourism Summit (Byron Bay): Joining an expert panel to speak on guest experience, sensory wellness, and how hotels can thoughtfully integrate sound and rest into modern hospitality.

  • Women in Leadership (in partnership with the UN): Setting the tone for the summit by guiding female leaders through an opening breathwork and sound session.

  • Destination Deluxe Awards (Thailand): Flying to Asia as a global finalist celebrating excellence in wellness and luxury travel.

Rest Isn’t Just a Feeling, It’s a Sensory Experience

Zara presenting sound healing and breathwork

When we talk about wellness in hotels, design, or corporate environments, we often treat rest as a luxury or an afterthought. But real rest isn't just a passive feeling. It’s a complete sensory experience.

From room acoustics to intentional sound frequencies, true rest is designed. It's about regulating the nervous system through space, sound, and touch. Whether I’m consulting on hotel guest experience or guiding an immersive sound bath, my work is about shifting how environments make us feel on a cellular level.

The Reality: 101 No’s and the Compound Effect

Looking at this list, it’s easy for it to look like a smooth highlight reel. But what you don't see are the 101 times I was ignored, the unanswered pitches, and the moments that tested my ego.

It is not easy to keep working when you don't see immediate results. But manifestation without action is just a wish. Life doesn’t just happen to you while you sit around and wait. You have to make moves. Every small, tiny step compounds over time, edging you one step closer to where you're meant to be.

If there’s something sitting on your heart right now, whether it is a shift you want to make or a stage you want to stand on, start taking steps towards it today. Buy the outfit. Send the email. Show up.

The rest will meet you there.
