From Bangkok to Baghdad: A Month of International Breathwork & Sound Baths

November and early December became one of the most meaningful periods of my work as a breathwork and sound bath practitioner. I carried Mellow Habits across borders — holding space in three cities, three cultures, and three completely different energy landscapes: Bangkok (Thailand), Baghdad (Iraq), and Erbil (Iraq).

This journey confirmed something I’ve always believed:
sound and breath travel effortlessly — they belong everywhere humans seek peace.

Bangkok: A Wellness Residency at COMO Hotels

My month began in Thailand, where I facilitated multiple sound bath and breathwork sessions at COMO Hotels in Bangkok. COMO’s commitment to wellbeing made it the perfect space for nervous-system work. Guests from around the world joined me for immersive sessions centred on slow breathing, gong resonance, and intentional rest.

Here, the practice felt expansive — like it wanted to grow beyond the walls of the studio.

And it did.

Baghdad: A Homecoming Through Breath and Sound

From Bangkok, I travelled directly to Baghdad, returning not just as Zara but as a practitioner carrying my Tibetian bowls, breathwork frameworks, and a deep sense of purpose.

My first Iraqi session took place at Wolf Gym Baghdad, where I guided a full breathwork and sound bath event. The contrast of a gym environment with meditative work created a powerful atmosphere — grounded, strong, and deeply human.

People told me afterwards that they hadn’t experienced stillness like that in years.

Erbil: Two Sound Baths at Core Pilates

Next, I travelled north to Erbil, where I facilitated two sound bath and breathwork sessions at Core Pilates. The community welcomed the practice with openness and curiosity.

These sessions became soft pockets of calm — a place to release, breathe, and reset within a fast-growing city.

A Thread That Connected All Three Cities

Across Bangkok, Baghdad, and Erbil, I reflected on one truth:

Our nervous systems speak a universal language.
Slow breath calms it.
Sound softens it.
Stillness reconnects it.

Three international sound baths in Iraq.
A multi-session wellness residency in Thailand.
One month — many cultures — one practice.

I’m grateful to COMO Hotels Bangkok, Wolf Gym Baghdad, and Core Pilates Erbil for trusting me with their spaces, and to every person who laid down their mat and allowed a moment of stillness to unfold.

This journey is why I created Mellow Habits:
to bring unhurried rest into places that need it, and to continue offering breathwork and sound healing around the world.
